“To stop the flow of music would be like the stopping of time itself; incredible and inconceivable." – Aaron Copland
Join us as we pay homage to the great American composers who found a voice for our country amongst the very European dominated genre. “American Portrait: A Concert of Unity”, is an educational performance that looks into what makes American Music, American.
We’ll start early with a talk by Jane Dahlenburg, a music professor at UCA, upstairs at Reynolds at 6:45, then come down for the music. And then, you can stay late for a snack after the performance, around 8:45p.m.
For this concert only, we’re collecting non-perishable food. Everyone who donates will get a ticket for each item brought, and the tickets will be drawn for a winner to two free tickets to the April concert!
